Notes
With this build we enter the Beta 2 stage.
It is in the 24xx range, for some reason Microsoft skipped the 23xx build, all builds found online are presumably fake.
The setup of this build now asks for a Product Key, the previous ones did not.
After setup is completed and is logged in for the first time, you notice a new Start Menu style and icons, including a new Desktop Background with Whistler in it (although you can only see Whist clearly).
This build also includes the default Watercolor (renamed from Professional) theme and also 2 Test Visual Styles called
Chartreuse Mongoose and
Blue Lagoon.
In the Control Panel some Applets have been Updated with icons/text removed/added.
It also includes MSN Explorer 1.1 and Windows Messenger 3.0 and System Restore from Windows Millennium.
Windows Media Player has been updated to Version 8 and Windows Movie Maker to 1.1.
There has also been some work on the Trident Engine for Internet Explorer and in the About it now reads 6.0 insteads of 5.60.
Outlook Express still identifies itself as version 5, but has been upgraded to version 6 as by the buildnumber.
